Noodle and the Case of the Missing Collar
You may remember that Noodle had a run in with a skunk a few days ago. Well, one unfortunate side effect was though Noodle was (mostly) cleaned of the skunk smell his collar wasn't so lucky. The girls had put his collar aside for more thorough cleaning a few days ago.
And, today, Noodle got out.
It's the first time in several years that he gotten away from us. It's never an aggressive thing. He just smells something and then smells something else and in a short period of time, he's four houses away. Luckily, in those previous situations, he always had his collar. However, today he didn't, which makes this more difficult.
Though a harrowing situation for our family, what has been wonderful is how social media has come to our rescue. Within a few hours, over ten people had shared our "lost dog" post on Facebook and dozens of people commented or placed our notice on other message boards. Several people volunteered to walk/drive the neighborhoods searching for him and I've been fielding messages for hours as people have been asking for updates. It's been wonderful to request help and to get an enthusiastic response.
Tomorrow I will check our local shelter and start posting flyers around our neighborhood. Hopefully, I will be able to post an update to everyone that he is healthy and safe.
But, in the meantime, I can only express our gratitude to our community that has pulled together for us.
NOTE: It's not my intention to constantly write about my pets, however, lately they have been the cause of most of the upheavals in my life. Bear with me.
NOODLE IS SAFE!! Hey everyone! Noodle was picked up by the Pasadena Humane Society yesterday evening, probably 10min before we got home. We saw their Lost Dog update early this morning and I was able to pick him up when they opened at 9am. A huge thank you to everyone who searched for him, spread the word, gave suggestions and offered support. Thank you so much! It’s great to have our family back together.
