Our Jacaranda is Blooming

Our backyard is home to a giant jacaranda tree which is at least 35ft tall and spreads branches over the vast majority of the property. It is truly wonderous and majestic, and was a great climbing tree when my girls were younger.

Now, it is in bloom. For a few weeks each year, small violet blossoms form at the edge of branches and then begin to fall. With a tree as large as ours, at any time of day, tiny flowers will fall every few moments, like little purple snowflakes.
