The Friday Evening Party
There is something remarkable about Friday evening. It is a time of transition. The week has ended. Usually I find that communication with clients and colleagues stops by around 2pm on Friday, and there are several hours of waiting... Waiting to go home... waiting for the weekend to start.
That is what makes the Friday evening so remarkable. Because, really, the weekend doesn’t start until Saturday morning, And on Saturday morning the weekend will have been decided. Will it be a vacation weekend? A work weekend? A drive-the-kids-around-town weekend? Each will have its own timeline, and its own responsibilities and expectations.
Which is why I like Friday evenings. There is a sense of possibility that is in play before the weekend sets into one form or another. Its a feeling of being young.
And, it’s the perfect time to celebrate with a party.
